In all his work as illustrator, poster artist, comic strip drawer and scriptwriter, painter, set designer and film director, Enki Bilal presents a future world falling to pieces. It’s certainly a unified, even magnified world, by the power of an aesthetic and poetic vision, certainly, but also a vast premonitory and disturbing metaphor of our nearest future.
