Nico van den Brink
From his early childhood Nico has been strongly influenced by the work of Dutch and Flemish magical realists such as Hubert Lampo and Belcampo, but also by the gothic ghost stories of Edgar Allan Poe, Shirley Jackson, Bram Stoker and H.P. Lovecraft. Before making MOLOCH, Nico was mentored in the United States by horror icons such as James Wan (THE CONJURING, INSIDIOUS, SAW) and Sam Raimi (EVIL DEAD, DRAG ME TO HELL). With them, he has two feature films in development based on the Dutch short films HET JUK (THE BURDEN) and SWEET TOOTH. The latter title was acquired by New Line Cinema, the Hollywood studio responsible for NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, the CONJURING franchise and IT.
