But the love story between professional hypochondriac Anx and extrovert Cass in Thibault Emin’s debut feature is a tour de force we just can’t pass up. Cloistered in an apartment, after a mysterious epidemic causes the infected to literally melt into the scenery, our two lovebirds quickly descend into an excruciatingly paranoid nightmare. ELSE is formally ambitious and deeply personal, with a universe akin to Jeunet and Cronenberg’s body horror. And we’re presenting this must-see gem in collaboration with our compadres of Offscreen!
