While here Easter Monday is above all else a most welcome day off – especially WELCOOOME this year as you’ll be able to stay a little longer at the BIFFF’s closing soiree, on Easter -, it’s a much bigger deal in Catholic Poland. On that day, the hormones of thousands of Polish teenagers go bonkers as boys dressed up in colorful costumes try to splash girls with water. The sexual metaphor of this seemingly innocuous tradition is obvious and, in the midst of all the fun, boundaries are sometimes crossed. Violently. As was the case for 16-year-old Klara, who was raped by a masked, unknown boy at last year’s celebration. Shocked and confused, she keeps it all to herself. Until she tells Diana, the local esoteric weirdo, who helps her come to terms with her trauma… and retaliate!
