We find ourselves in the heart of the dark Middle Ages. An eccentric man mixes all sorts of potions and handles strange objects. The health of the count of Ruk is steadily deteriorating and, to turn the tide, the court alchemist is fathoming the secret of the philosopher’s stone. On an ominous night he recites the formulas of a mysterious invocation. Is his invocation the cause of a series of mysterious incidents in the castle? That same night the dragon appeared for the first time. A roaring and fire-spitting monster covered in shiny scales.
In this super production, an original interpretation of one of the oldest written legends, Sword and Sorcery and Science Fiction are mixed together. We see Klaus Kinski in the role of the mysterious alchemist, Harvey Keitel as the glorious knight and Fernando Rey as the monk.
