Edition 1996
Our Beloved Europe…
..where no border seems to be fixed…
…with its ever growing masses of unemployed…
…with it’s armies that can not enforce the peace…
…that suffocates under rules and regulations…
…that is ruled by mighty business moguls…
…with its genocides and hidden wars…
…already existing but far from finished…
But also.Europe with its promising future and many challenges… For many years already we have contribued to this Eruope. As usual, there is our Euoprean Short film Competition, which was organised for the fist time in 1984. Of course there is our international Competition for Long Feature Films, But besides that… this year the Prize of the Best European Fantasy Film will be attributed for the first time and this within the framework of our collaboration, since 1987, with 3 other European Festivals. And there is another novelty : a workshop in which future Belgian filmakers can benefit from the experience of an internationally acclaimed director. But rest assured. We are still very much down to earth ! We are not going to offer you boring symposieums or tiring speeches that seem to go on forever… This Festival is and will remain Your Festival. It is the pkace to be if you want to see the latest films in the fantasy genre from all over the world (23 nationalities with focus : MAD IN JAPAN. It is also an event where there is no room for prejudices or dogma’s and where good humour and a relaxed atmosphere prevail.. We wish you a Fantastic Fantasy Festival !!!
