Thea Hvistendahl

Thea Hvistendahl is a Norwegian director and screenwriter. Her feature debut, HANDLING THE UNDEAD (starring Renate Reinsve and Anders Danielsen Lie), premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, winning the Jury Award for Best Original Music. After an extensive international tour, it earned the Méliès d’Or for Best European Fantastic Film.
Hvistendahl is drawn to atmospheric, character-driven storytelling and existential cinema, and her work often moves between psychological drama and genre, exploring themes of identity, memory, and perception.
