Synopsis

Leo, a plump, 40-year-old sad-sack, is ecstatic. This afternoon he’s heading to the park for his first date in… well, ages. He’s drumming around the mirror, trying out this overtly kitschy tie or that impossibly tight shirt. Cause, he’s got to admit, he’s kind of nervous. Butterflies in the stomach and whatnot! After all, you’re never quite sure what the other person is going to look like when you’re going on a blind date. Will she really be as hot as her profile pic? Or does she has a big, fat wart in the middle of her face that she Photoshopped away? And will she really be a minor? Cause yes, Leo likes ‘m young, very young. When they’re still malleable, with minimal resistance. Meanwhile, Carolina is waiting for him in a deserted section of the park. Her whole being reeks of the sweet innocence that comes with being not a day over 16. When Leo sees her, he’s in seventh heaven. Finally, he may have found his pristine Virgin Maria (♪ touched for the very first time ♫), at whose altar he’d gladly burn a candle, if you catch our drift. And yes, a prayer may be called for, knowing how their lil’ rendezvous will turn out…
Revealing more would be a crime. All we can say is that it’s an adaptation of a play, ‘Grooming’, by Paco Bezerra (put those smartphones down immediately!) and that it goes into dark topics such as sexual harassment and abuse. And that it reaches great heights of perversity – Michael Haneke is probably shedding a tear somewhere – but probably not in the way you’d expect…
