KARMADONNA (2026)

Throughout history, humanity has managed to disappoint and even anger numerous gods. But Buddha, that blissfully smiling fat guy, getting him to want to rid our planet of assholes of all kinds with a coarse brush, well—you would have to be pretty tough to achieve that. Now, one may make a lot of claims about director Aleksandar Radivojevic, but not that he would not be tough. Seasoned BIFFFers will undoubtedly recognize that name as the screenwriter of A SERBIAN FILM (BIFFF 2010), the subject of one of the most legendary screenings in the festival’s rich history. In KARMADONNA, Buddha’s chosen one is Yelena, a single pregnant woman who, after a hesitant start, becomes increasingly efficient as his rough brush. All this adds up to a spicy cocktail of social criticism, Buddhist philosophy, and merciless violence.
